jets are cheaper and if they don't get destroyed, they are reusable. The only *real* advantage of using missiles is that they have a longer range and pack more firepower. If you can choose from the two, jets usually are the better choice.

Tanks are an exception. They DEMOLISH jets like butter.

air power in this game is a waste of money it does have uses but for the most part just a waste.
