So the situation is that the alliance leader is no longer involved in the map but the alliance wishes to add a new member(s) to the group. The leader is dead or has quit the map (and his country is just a dark spot of gravy on the screen). I believe currently we have to recreate the alliance as a new one with a new leader. It would be nice if the leadership transferred to another member (most senior?) so that alliances can grow after our Napoleon's death. Is there another way?
Viva la revolution!

Thank you,

Actually, I am still on this world...

Sorry, got distracted and forgot what board I was posting on.  I think that there needs to be a way for the leader to cede power to someone else.

Actually, I think there there should be ways of holding elections.  It would be nice if you could set up the alliance as a monarchy, dictatorship, democracy, oligarchy, etc and that the "rules" of leadership would therefore apply.

That's fine for 'leadership' of the alliance, but that doesn't mean that the people in the alliance will follow anything that the 'leader' says or does.

My only complaint about alliances is that singletons don't really have a chance.  Unless you are lucky enough to get in the right alliance, then you're pretty much screwed.  And alliances can turn on you in heartbeat.

Personally, I would put a very low priority on anything to do with alliances (with the exception of allowing additional 'administrators').
