I see the same thing.  it's happening in the world map in the game as well.

Apparently a pink player went on a rampage last night, and even took over the ocean.  Damn pinkos.

Not tried the play map yet, but Explore is mostly in the pink

ok, whoever did it needs to own up to it.  not cool, bro, not cool.

In the meantime, surviving players, ready your resources!  The pink menace shall not be allowed to have pride parades through our streets!  RESIST!!!

This map glitch is driving me insane!  I've got two more fixes I can try.  If they don't work, we're just going to have to play this game without a map. haha

of interesting note, is that it was displaying all the attack movements that took place overnight. very interesting.
