If one of my unit's attack path intersects with another unit's attack path do they attack each other? If one of my unit's attack path goes over one of my land or sea bases will it attack the base?

I feel like I'm losing units when doing this.
A unit will not pass through one of your own units during an attack. If the space is occupied, the unit will simply stop and abort the remainder of the attack.
Attacks will not take place on your own sectors/units/bases. The only time one of your attacks can hurt you is with missiles and bombs, because they can affect nearby sectors. So, if you're too close to the enemy sector you attack, you will take damage.
