A Facebook login would likely make it more inviting for new players, but I personally refuse to play Facebook apps anymore (games etc) for privacy reasons. So yea...I voted no.
In any case, I don't think there's a problem getting people to join and see the game. I think the problem with this game is retaining of the ones that do. #1 due to the game's steep learning curve (which is hampered by limited instructions/tutorials), and #2 due to burn-out since it's easy to start many maps but hard to finish even 1 if you're of any decent size.
Bottom line, I think this games needs smaller maps and a stronger help/learning component before it can benefit from increased exposure. I mean...you can always promote and get interest, but if you're not retaining the ones you entice in the door you're wasting valuble first-impressions and loosing word-of-mouth referrals.
As a personal example I know lots of guys that I'd like to invite to play...but the game is so limited in documentation in the end it will mean that I have to hand-hold them through the start. I barely have enough time to play my one map so I just can't do it. If there was an organized effort to support or further develop the game I'd participate, but as of now...barring one independent player I know working on a video tutorial, all we have is Johnny...and he has already drawn the line in further developing v1.
I really want to see this game grow...i just don't see the right things lining up for the momentum to re-build. No offense Johnny. You've done an incredible job building this thing from scratch and I'm impressed. Hell I even tried to hire you for other programming work! lol. My comments here are more concerning the game's v1 potential for growth outside of the regulars who are playing now. Just keeping it real.
