I have a job and I have to get up at this time.....not that my opponents don't have jobs....but they sit and wait til late then place units and make moves with the knowledge of knowing where all my units are placed.  WHen I set up my attacks I have no clue what he's gonna do...it's like they're invisible units...

My Suggestion is this...

if possible, the first to keep server movement times the same (if that's difficult to change) is every day that you place a new unit, they are invisible until the server makes player moves...and I don't mean an hour before I mean right up to.  This way there's no advantage to those that hang up til God knows when to place their troops....when is server movments anyway, I tried to hang one night til 330 cst, and they still hadn't moved...so I gave up...

or

Have random Server Start Times for player movement, from 12am EST -  4am EST.  or w/e time zone you're in admin.    This way if someone wants to stay up late and wait til last second to place their troops, they just might miss their placement....

This placement so late has nothing to do with skill, it has to do with the ability to hang up late (or early depending where ever they're from) and place based on what someone else is doing....

Thanks in advance
Some really should be done to negate the advantage of the "3:50 a.m. Hero."
If I recall correctly, it's 4am central for the cycle to occur. Maybe it was 5am... that may be 5am eastern... well, it's most likely around that.
I remember when we started the invisible unit thing it was horrible.  But that was only because they were invisible until both initial placement AND that days attack had been completed.

I've always been a proponent of units being invisible the first day they are created but not being able to set attacks until the next day.  This would make all new units visible for an ENTIRE cycle before they could make an attack move.

There was a thread somewhere in which Johnny said he would do it this way on a future map, but I don't think he has.
