Johnny,
How about slapping a number on each continent as it displays in the overview.  Then let us brainstorm names.  Give preference to the names created by the inhabitants of the continent.

I think a bit of black lettering, bold but not too bold as to obscure countries, place either on or adjacent to the land mass would work.

I know that it isn't really necessary, but it is just something some of us would like...

We could name the oceans and seas as well.  (in my work, i have had to name subdivisions and roads a lot, and I know that eventually you start running out of ideas.)  I was thinking that by people throwing names out, that it might be easier for you.

Perhaps since this is a daily updated game you could have a highlighted area every 2, 3, 4 or whatever days and those with ideas submit their names of the continent  to the big guy then everyone votes on the most popular... or something like that. personally I think polls/ votes gives us something more to do each day other than plotting to take over the world... by creating a system of voting we could be starting a new diplomatic and creative addition to an  otherwise fun game. the best part  is you dont have to involve yourself if you don't want to.

I'll have to think about this a bit.  Continent boundaries aren't always necessarily intuitive, so I'll have to decide how I'll define them and how they'll become named in a way that functions well and easily.  (Once I've completed the game, I'll like to keep my level of maintenance to a minimum so I can focus on my next project.)

I definitely want to involve users in the process, though.
