It appears a handful of countries have already gotten huge, making it difficult very early on for new people to join.  I moved the spawn points around to try to alleviate the problem.

I think it's important we address this now, so the server isn't bogged down processing a massive world for a dozen or so players!  I think Cerato probably should have had a much larger start delay, but that's obviously not something I can change now.

I can think of a few fixes, but I think two are fairly drastic.  One, we could restart.  Two, I could freeze the game and give it a new start date in the future, giving more players a chance to pick spawn points.  When the game starts again, existing players would have the land they currently own.  Or three, I can just periodically move spawn points around to keep players spread out and give new players a chance.

The world is probably just too large for the number of players we currently have, or maybe there are just too many worlds.  Let me know what you guys think.

several people that started on borogov and got wasted early on moved to cerato because they would have room to expand. i got gang-banged by three nations on borogov because my alliance took them each apart on ankylo. playing for vendetta takes the  enjoyability out of the game.

cerato's map is simply put, huge. several people said they didn't want to play a map that huge because ankylo was big enough, and they never made a nation on cerato. and there is little to no advertising for the game, so you aren't getting new players in.

there should have been more spawn points to begin with, and i think that would be a better option to just pull the current spawn points and make eight new ones in different locales.
I think moving the spawn points would allow others to join and not be threatened by larger countries.

I would like to see another ankylo sized map with about a 2 week delay.  It does need to be made clear that they can play on multiple maps for now for free.

Remember that Ankylo had the eastern hemisphere free for colonization for most of the game play because it was basically unreachable for so long.

Maybe every couple of weeks you could move spawn points, spreading out the countries.

You're right, there probably aren't enough players who want to commit to such a large map.

Just to clarify, though, I have been running more ads recently.  In the past two weeks, for example, there have been 77 accounts created.  I believe most of them joined Borogov, since that was set as the default world to show for new visitors.  (It's currently Cerato, since Borogov is getting fairly saturated.)
Definitely rotate the spawn points.

I think one of the problems is actually that there were too many, since there are now too many countries expanding without any checks.

I should have had four that I moved every week or two.
another problem is that it's just too much of a pain in the ass to navigate the map. it's massively hard to find a spawn point. i know that you added them to the explore map, but new people aren't going to infer the difference between the maps.

i know it was discussed before, but i don't remember if it was addressed, but is there a way to zoom out further than the default so that you can see even more of the landscape?

I actually just finished adding an expand/collapse option to the map on the Join page.  Clicking "Expand" will fill the user's screen with the map to make navigating a bit easier.  S/he can then click "Collapse" and continue with the form.

Hopefully that will make it easier to navigate.

these accusations have NO ground. I never had a run in with Landover in Ankylo and yet i knew he was a threat to my brother and my first ally, TPC. He stated that he was to occupy and control much of the map in which they resided as well. So, these accusations hold no ground and worse, it was your friends fault to threaten my brother and friend.

Im sorry, but it was NOT a vendetta. It was restitution and a preemptive strike to save my friend and brother.

i'm not accusing you. i'm accusing the three nations that ganged up on me. learn to read.

What's the odds of getting this expand function on Cerato so that when you are in the world view, you could see more?  I would love to see at least the same percentage of the map as An...  (can never remember how to spell these worlds)

The "Expand" button on the Join page doesn't change the size of the map.  It just fills the browser with it, so you don't have to scroll within the small "window" within the form.

As for the world names, since I'll be going through the alphabet when naming them, you can just say "world A," "world B," etc.
So I will take this chance to request the ability to "zoom out" the world view to allow the ability to see much more of the map for the purpose of strategic planning...

Do you mean keep all of the functions, interactivity, overlays, etc., but just smaller, or do you mean a view that just shows the full map, say as larger as the browser window?
the latter would be fine if easier...

I just realized I posted the update here instead of the update thread.  Oops!
