Subject: Money Per Sectorlast

How much is everyone making per sector? I think this is one of the most unfair aspects of the game, but I'm curious to see how much of a difference it can make. Mine is $1.11 currently.
I'm currently at $1.80 myself. I have a friend who's up near $2.50 I believe.

i thinks its the more sectors you have; the less a sector gives.
I suppose it may factor in the base $8000 or what not, but countries of the same relative size should get around the same.
I'm making $4.59 per currently, but I was making $5+ a couple days ago, which is kinda weird.
I'm making 1.3 a day

I think its based on the resources you have in a sector. Each day you get a certain percentage of the resources in your sector, but eventually the resources in that sector will approach zero.
$2.03 for me.
$1.48

i imagine that johnny is getting a couple pennies per sector, if not only one.

Income is a fixed percent of the materials in each sector you own, which does not degrade over time (at least in this version of the game; a version 2 will likely operate differently).

So, the average money per sector is simply the amount of money you made in the last turn divided by the number of sectors you own.

So, everyone may want to keep in mind that revealing your average income per sector also reveals to your enemies exactly how much money you're pulling in per day.

Now let me know if you guys want me to delete this thread.

In that case, I'm making $1.53 per sector.  I will enjoy seeing my enemies cower in fear.

the top 20 are listed every day and people can do math, so it's moot, really.
I want to hear what Johnny's making. If a larger nation makes more than a smaller nation based simply on luck-of-the-draw starting position, this game is unfair (although I think the randomness is anyways).

wut?

all the squares have random resource figures ranging from about 800 to 1100. each nation pulls a certain percentage of the resources every turn. the fewer squares you have, the higher your income from those squares.

the larger your nation is, the lower your income from those squares. but since you have a greater number of total squares, your income is still higher than new nations making $3/sector.

also: what would you rather have instead of the randomness? attacks happening based on what order they are made? if you think everyone is going to log in at 4am to be the first to set their attacks, you're insane. i'm sure johnny made it that time because there would be the fewest people online, and the attacks would happen at the peak of site inactivity.

I was not referring to the random attack order, I agree with that. I meant that as someone starting out, you can land on a portion with 1000+ per square, or 650. That's quite a differential. I'd rather see a standard resource amount, with some sort of mineral deposits or mines for strategic targets. I'm saying that its not fair that two countries of equal size could have varying incomes, based solely on random resource amounts.
For example:
Country A owns 50,000 squares, averaging 700 resources. Income: $61,000
Country B owns 50,000 squares, averaging 900 resources. Income: $76,000
Not fair if you ask me.

The odds of that happening are astronomical.  As nations accumulate more sectors, their average income per sector will steadily grow towards the global average.

me too pal, me too. i suggested it, but tim(rott, the nuclear rogue who resigned) said it was stupid.

to me, that would add a very interesting aspect to the game, and would drive some of the war machines. alas, johnny said no, so cross your fingers and pray for a map that has ore deposits.

No way, we should have bonus resources sprinkled around the map.

Oil makes your jeeps go farther, Lead makes your soldiers cheeper, micro chips make your ships cheeper, and furs increases your income per sector, etc. It would make certain points strategically very valuable.

The current map has areas that are wealthier in resources than others.  I assumed those would become targets.

Of course, it would probably help if there was a resource map showing the levels. haha

Yes, yes it would.

Here's the resource overview:

It will likely be randomized again for a relaunch of this map, but I'll incorporate a resource map into the game from the beginning from now on.
Bright = high resources or low resources?

If the former; I think my capital is placed in one of the best points on the planet

Gotta be high, my continent is as dark as it seems...

When I quit, I was making $1.33 per sector
