I'd like personally to be able to play in more than one world.  I don't see how that would harm anything.  I would like to be able to see this map to completion, and star anew in another map.
I would like to see smaller worlds that you can have a country in each...

Another thought would be to have maps that start at a certain date and have everyone that will play that map start at the same time (just semi-random spawn)  I think that it would be nice to be able to view all maps whether you are in it or not, like the current explore.

If I were to create multiple worlds, I'd want it to be to get more players playing.

The problem with allowing players join multiple worlds is that it could be the same core group of players across every world.  Working together, always warring, etc.  Each world would just be an overlap of the others, as opposed to a new set of players with their own dynamic.

There's still a lot of complication involved, including alliances and the message board.  I assume the board would keep a GT and Help category, but the Roundtable would be done away with and replacing with a category for each individual world.

I still have to figure out how to restructure alliances and such, if at all.

I was thinking about this.

I cam to the conclusion that trying to do all this would be a pain in the butt, and alliances would also have to do a lot of work to adjust.

If you do a new map, I would scrap everything from this map and reset.

For Example, at MCXA we're an alliance of a bunch of CN players, who have added a few other nations to our ranks. If we started a new map we might not want to have those added players still in our ranks. Also many alliances are geographicly centralized.

The includes deleting alliances. Everyone would just have to start their alliances over. You should also have a  a 2 day pause for people just to place their nations I would suggest.

Alliances would always be reset with a new map, whether it's a restart or multiple worlds.  They'd be trickier with multiple worlds, but only if users could play in multiple worlds (which I don't think is a good idea anyway).

With a new map, I may have have spawn "hubs" on every continent.  Then, each new country could join within 50 pixels of a spawn point, or within 100 pixels of two other countries.  So, placement is going to be tighter, but it will start in clusters around the map.

I think there would be enough players at a restart to make that work well.  I'll be sending a broadcast to about 300 accounts (at this point), so hopefully a good portion will sign up.  There were obviously a lot of people who joined and then never played, but I don't have a good idea of the percentage without writing a script to look at the data.
from what i can tell, about 2/3 stick around for at least the first week, then things drop off to about half down to 1/3 of the players still being active.

Plus, I have no idea how many left because of frustrations with the interface, which has changed quite a bit over time.  I think the air attack redesign and the keyboard shortcuts have improved things dramatically.
